Julie Gurganus

Mrs. Julie Gurganus was born and raised in Washington County. She earned her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Business Education as well as her Library Science Certification at East Carolina University. In December 1991, she began her career in education with Washington County Schools (WCS). As a part of WCS, she served as a Career and Technical Education middle school teacher, Instructional Technology Facilitator, Coordinator of Instructional Technology and Media Specialist. After 21 years, she joined NERSBA as the Director of Technology/Testing/CTE. In August 2019, she transitioned into the Northeast Region Digital Teaching and Learning Consultant position at the NC Department of Public Instruction (NCDPI). She retired from NCDPI in January 2022 with 30 years of educator experience. In July 2022, she returned to NERSBA as the Federal Programs and Testing Coordinator. She is excited to be a part of the NERSBA community again!
Mrs. Gurganus is a resident of Washington County and enjoys spending time with her friends and family, especially her precious grandbabies!
