English Teacher (Grades 9-12)
Overview:
NERSBA Early College is an educational institution that bridges the gap between high school and higher education. We focus on hands-on, interactive instruction to prepare students for success in college and beyond.
We are seeking a dynamic and passionate English teacher to join our team and inspire our 9th-12th grade students. The ideal candidate will bring creativity, innovation, and a student-centered approach to our interactive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging, hands-on English curriculum for grades 9-12
- Integrate college-level content and skills into high school English courses
- Collaborate with colleagues to create interdisciplinary projects and learning experiences
- Utilize innovative teaching methods and technologies to support student learning
- Assess student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback
- Mentor students in their academic and personal growth
- Participate in professional development opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, or related field
- Valid NC teaching certification for grades 9-12 English
- 3+ years of teaching experience, preferable (not required)
- Strong knowledge of literature, writing, and language arts
- Experience with project-based learning and interactive teaching methods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learning styles and needs
