Scholars Transplant Potato Plants
NERSBA scholars recently participated in potato transplanting with Mr. Mark Clough, a research at the Vernon G. James Research and Extension Center (VJC). Scholars learned about Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO). This is the process of genetically modifying organisms to reach their peak point. NERSBA scholars worked along with the researchers at the VJC to help transplant potatoes. The students were given a set of cells to transplant into a larger tray, then they placed the trays into the greenhouse. (Submitted by: Kellie Elrod, Noah Ayers, Jessica Rosene, and Acacia Richardson)
