Scholars Participate in NC FFA Legislative Day
On Thursday, February 16th, twenty-one NERSBA scholars and Mr. Riggs traveled to Raleigh for the NC FFA Legislative Day. The scholars had quite an action packed day. Our group met with Senate Majority Leader Harry Brown who wrote the legislation that created NERSBA and had some very productive conversations with the Senator. Scholars also met with: Dr. Jeffery Warren, a senior science advisor; Senate Pro Tempore Phil Berger; and, Mr. Nute Thompson, a research staffer for Rep. Boles of Moore County. In addition to all this, scholars attended workshops on state government led by NC FFA State Officers and a special edition of NC Spin just for FFA members. We are looking forward to returning to this event again in the future!
